Last year at the Canberra Short Film Festival I got chatting to another attendee. We bonded over our love of film photography - me with my Canon point-and-shoot, him with decades of history captured on 35mm. 

Minutes turned into hours and ended with him offering me one of his own cameras. A Nikon F90, still sticky with the tape used to glue it to his hand while shooting street photography. Turns out, he was one of Australia’s most celebrated photojournalists.

It was one of those rare moments of connection, trust, and unspoken understanding. That feeling is what I set out to create when I’m behind the camera.

I direct with heart to build the kind of trust that lets people show up fully as themselves, so their stories can unfold authentically on screen. With a background in production, creative, communications, and politics, I move fluidly between big-picture thinking and hands-on execution - whether I’m guiding performance, shaping narrative, or balancing vision with real-world constraints.

By day, I’m part of the Production team at Special Group. By night, I’ve founded a writer’s group and creative community ‘The Write Idea’ and graduated from Award School. I am also the proud adoptive mother of 11 wayward cameras and counting.
